Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.
Before Toto was formed, members of the band did session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for not having hit singles. In 1985, the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen quit, and the band held auditions to choose a new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark the 20th anniversary of the band. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was well received by fans and the band went on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.
While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with Toto.

In 1998, Toto started working on a project entitled Old Is New. The album featured three new tracks as well as a number of finished recordings of songs from the past. The album became a huge success and the band went on tour to promote it.
